Wendy's has released a video that our friends at Ad Age are calling "Viral". You guys know how I feel about that word. Only a consumers can make a video viral.
This one is spun our of the "meatatarian" campaign. The question remains will this video get more people to buy Wendy's burgers? What do you guys think?
I did follow the link to http://www.meatatariansunite.com that appeared in the video. I entered my email and this was the email I got.
"Congratulations carnivorous carnivore, you are now an official Meatatarian. The Highly Esteemed Council of Meatatarians has assessed your love for all things meat, and has declared you worthy of this title.
Download your official Certificate of Meatatarianism. We suggest you print and display it proudly over your desk, dinner table, workbench, truck dashboard or wherever you partake of your favorite savory meats.
As you celebrate your position at the top of the food chain, please click here to enjoy this coupon for the crown jewel of all Meatatarian meals, Wendy’s Baconator®. Six strips of hickory smoked bacon atop two hot ‘n juicy beef patties really is the official meal of all Meatatarian meals.
Welcome to the movement. Meatatarians unite!"
The biggest problem for me was none of my browsers were supported so I could not follow any of the links. So the question remains - Is your lettuce a Meatatarian?

As I spoke about last month, I have been working on a campaign for Nationwide Insurance. This campaign purpose is a pure acquisition play. The assignment was straightforward. Make the product a hero! Make those phones ring and create blazing click trail of online trial of quotes.
We started with an insight that, in these trying economic times, people are switching insurance to save money on their car insurance. Then we combined it with our clients unique way of selling insurance which equates to a customized policy designed to meet your needs.
In the end my team of N@TCH playas came together to launch a great DR (direct response) campaign!
Rock On Wunderman! Check out the behind he scenes photos.

This morning I set off looking for some marketing fun when I ran into contagious magazine's highlight of Martin Lindstrom's new book. I was facinated after I read their review. (and there was a special offer to boot)
"Subliminal messaging is considered one of the great evils of the marketing industry, but it's a thing of the past now, isn't it? We're all too transparent, too touchy feely, too too 2.0 to even think about doing something that insidious. Right? Right? Wrong....
According to the results revealed in Martin Lindstrom's new book, Buyology, subliminal messaging is alive and well. In 1957, when a market researcher named James Vicary claimed that a lightning-quick image of a Coca-Cola bottle-flashed for less than 1/3000th of a second on a movie screen-was enough to make the audience rush to the concession stand for a Coke, America was shocked and alarmed. If marketers could use hidden messages to get us to buy, couldn't other nefarious forces use similar tactics to psychologically manipulate our behavior? The term 'subliminal advertising' was coined, and its practice was quickly banned in 1957. Since then, no-one has explored the potential influence of subliminal advertising-until Project Buyology. Lindstrom and some of the world's most respected neuroscientists embarked on a mission to discover whether or not subliminal messages still surround us, and the extent to which they really influence our behavior. As Martin Lindstrom says: 'Be warned, what you're about to see-or rather not see-may alarm you'.
In a special offer for Contagious newsletter readers, you can pre-order a copy of Buyology - Truth and Lies About Why We Buy and receive Lindstrom's BRANDsense DVD for free! Click here for more startling revelations:

Offer valid until the official release of Buyology October 19th 2008." - Source Contagious Mag.
In BUYOLOGY, Martin Lindstrom presents the astonishing findings from his groundbreaking, three-year, seven-million-dollar neuromarketing study, a cutting-edge experiment that peered inside the brains of 2,000 volunteers from all around the world as they encountered various ads, logos, commercials, brands, and products.

It's rare that you meet someone who inspires you to think differently and take action. Moreover, does the same thing to your teen daughters. This past year one woman did. As many of you know I was one of the 18 million who came out and lent a hand to Senator Hillary Clinton's candidacy. So once again when the campaign asked - I was honored to be one of Hillary Clinton's hosts at an all star event here in New York.
Join me and Hillary at Hiro on Monday September 22. Go to http://www.hillaryclinton.com/hiro to RSVP. When you RSVP please make sure to select my name "Joanna Pena-Bickley" as your host in the drop down. The event is shaping up to be a fun evening with our favorite senator!
If you cannot attend you can still make a contribution. We could use your help in paying down Hillary's campaign debt at http://www.hillaryclinton.com/hiro (When you make your donation please use the drop down to select my name as your host)
I look forward to you joining me and Hillary in an evening that will help retire Hillary's campaign debt.

If you are a Lego fan like my son, (builds and creates through Lego's) then you will love the MiniMan. A 30th birthday tribute to Lego's mini-figures launched yesterday. This blog style site uses a simple principle. Its about you the creator and only you can create the next MiniMan adventure.
This content has inspired conversations among their core who seem to be posting photos, comments and their own MiniMan adventure videos. Check it out at : http://www.gominimango.com
"Built around the rallying cry, Go MiniMan Go, the online and offline integrated branding campaign includes an HD and 3D video for TV and YouTube, a GoMiniMan blog, an online video contest on gadget guide Gizmodo, activities at Lego amusement parks, and events at Lego retail stores. The animated video -- that can be viewed frame by frame -- is geared to adults, showing mini-figures participating in several cultural and historical moments and everyday activities since 1978." - Source ClickZ

I am a tennis junkie. So when I was on LinkedIn this morning the IBM Ad unit with live US Open scores caught my eye. When I looked closer I noted that IBM created a simple scores widget as it is one of the big sponsors of the US open.
I love the menu at the bottom which opens a plethora of of options like the IBM innovations at the Open, mobile scores and popular photos. Nice Work - This widgets packs a hard serve at creating a reason to install a branded widget on this page. Tons of utility!

Don Julio recently joined the myriad of spirits companies toying with how do they take the most socially consumed products in the world and apply them in to social media. There is nothing more social than sharing a drink with friends. Combined that with the "Authenticity"campaign and what you get is an authentic way to create a drinking experience.
Don Julio has taken a smart idea and instead of trying to re-invent their site, they did the distributed media thing. They partnered with one of the hottest online blogs. Don Julio + UrbanDaddy = a brand faciltaing their consumers drink finds. I love that they highlight both great accounts in the trade as well as distinguishing places that the perfect find with fun categories like "First Date", "In Celebration", "The Bankers", "True Love" and my favorite "With The Parents"
